  1. Prepare 250 gm baby potatoes
  2. Take 2 tsp oil
  3. You need to taste salt
  4. You need 4 tomatoes
  5. Get 2 medium sized onions

  7. Prepare 3-4 Garlic cloves
  8. Provide 2-3 Green chillies
  9. Use 2 poppy seeds(khas- khas)

  11. You need 1/4 cup Dahi
  12. Prepare 2 tsp Cream/ malai
Steps to make Afghani Dum Aloo:
  1. First of all par boil the baby potatoes or you can say boil upto only one whistle.after that fry all the potatoes and keep aside.
  2. Now take a wok on fire add 2 tbsp oil when oil become hot add pinch of heeng and 1tsp zeera let it crackle.
  3. Now add 1 tbsp ginger-garlic and chilli paste in it and fry till little brown after that add onion paste cook till it leaves the oil.now add tomatoes puree in it again Cook for 5-7 minutes.
  4. Now we r going to add our masala's or spices like 1/2 tsp haldi, 1/2 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp dhaniya powder,1tsp saunf powder, 2 tsp garam masala.also add roasted and water soaked 1 tsp poppy seeds.mix all the species properly for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Now add dahi and swirl regularly on medium flame then add 1tsp salt into it.and cream too
  6. Now leave all the potatoes in it and cook them for 5-10 minutes by adding some water too.
  7. Your dum aloo is ready now.
  8. Garnishing with some ginger juleins and with coriander leaves.
