Steps to make Chicken Yakhni Pulao:
  1. In a bowl add rice water wash thoroughly and soak for 20 mins then strain soaked rice and set aside
  2. In wok add chicken,garlic,ginger,onion, fennel seeds,cumin seeds,coriander seeds,mace,nutmeg,cinnamon sticks,cloves,black cardamom,salt black peppercorns and water
  3. Mix well and bring it to boil cover and cook on low flame until chicken is tender (approx 15-20 mins)
  4. Take out chicken pieces and set aside strain chicken stock(yakhni) and reserve for later use
  5. In pot add cooking oil,onion and fry until light golden
  6. Add cinnamon sticks,black cardamom,black peppercorns,cumin seeds,cloves and mix well
  7. Add ginger garlic paste and mix well
  8. Now add reserved chicken pieces mix well and cook for 2-3 mins
  9. Add yogurt and mix well
  10. Add black pepper,green chillies mix well and cook until oil separate
  11. Add reserve stock,salt mix well bring it to boil
  12. Add soaked rice mix and cook on medium high flame until water is reduced (4-5 mins) cover and steam cook on low flame for 18-20 mins
