  1. Provide 4 ripe tomatoes
  2. Take 1 tsp mustard seeds
  3. Provide 1/4 tsp asafoetida
  4. Prepare 1/4 tsp turmeric powder

  3. Dry roast fenugreek seeds in a separate karahi and grind it to a powder.
  4. Heat oil in a karahi and put mustard seeds and when mustard seeds splutter add asafoetida and saute for 30 seconds.
  5. Now add tomato puree and cook it on low flame till oil leaves the karahi. It may take 10 minutes.
  6. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt, fenugreek seeds powder and cook on low flame for 5 minutes.
  7. Transfer it in a serving bowl and serve with rice, dosa or idli.
