  13. Prepare 1/3 tsp turmeric powder

Steps to make Traditional Besan Pitor Curry:
  1. Let’s take gram flour in a big bowl, add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin seeds, chopped green chilli and mix it well. Now take 2 & 1/2 cup of water and add into the gram floor slowly slowly and keep stirring it. Make sure there is no lumps.
  2. Now let’s take pan and add oil. When the oil is hot then add asafoetida. Now add prepared gram flour paste, cook it on medium flame and stir it continuously. Cook it until it gets bit thick. It will take approax 10 mins.
  3. Now take the plate, Greece it with the oil and pour the prepared gram flour mixture and spread it. Let’s have the thickness of it to 1/2 inch and leave it for 10 mins and then cut pitor into the square pieces and keep it aside.
  4. Next let’s prepare the gravy and for the same, take oil in a pan. Once the oil is hot, add cumin seeds, asafoetida, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, ginger paste on low flame and sauté for a while. Now add tomato and green chilli paste and cook it until the oil is separate. Keep the flame medium.
  5. Now add 1 cup of water and cook it until it starts boiling. Now take the half cup of fresh curd in a bowl, add 1/2 cup water in it and mix it well. Please make sure to keep the flame low. Now add curd slowly into the gravy and stir it continuously until it gets boil. Now add 3/4 tsp salt, garam masala, chopped green coriander mix well.
  6. Now add prepared pitor, mix gently and cover it with the lid and cook it for 3-4 mins. Now traditional Besan pitor is ready to serve.
